Tamil Nadu CM Stalin terms Union Budget as anti-federal and anti-people

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has called the Union Budget 2022 as ‘anti-federal and anti-people’. He said that the government had totally forgotten about the welfare of the people.


He slammed the Centre for not granting enough relief especially when the nation is reeling under the impact of the pandemic.He also stated that the Centre for ignoring the demands of state governments. There were no welfare schemes for farmers who died while protesting against the three farm laws and no flood relief allocation to states. He said that the budget is a huge disappointment to the people of Tamil Nadu.
The ‘One Nation, One Registration’ proposal also came in for criticism as it exposed the Centre’s desire to snatch the rights of the State governments.He alleged that the Centre was showing its ”big brother attitude” by ignoring the requests of states to extend the GST compensation regime.
