Congress President Sonia Gandhi along with former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh visited the Tihar jail yesterday to meet P.Chidambaram. He is currently lodged there in connection with INX media case. He was arrested on August 21 and has been in jail since September 5th.
Both of them were accompanied by Chidambaram’ s son Karti Chidambaram. This visit was a big boost to Chidambaram and his family members. After the visit, Chidambaram’s official handle tweeted that he was honoured that two senior most Congress leaders visited him and that he would be brave as long as the Congress party is brave. This is Sonia’s second visit to Tihar jail. The earlier visit was way back in 1978 when Indira Gandhi was jailed.
