A six year old Indian-origin boy Om Madan Garg from Singapore has become the youngest Singaporean to finish the Everest Base Camp trek in Nepal. This feat has been recognised by the Singapore Book of Records.

Om Madan did this 10 day journey with his parents in October and reached the south base camp in Nepal at an altitude of 5,364 metre after trekking for 65 kms. It is reported that Om has been accompanying his parents on backpacking trips to Vietnam, Thailand and Laos since he was just two and a half months old.

The journey of Om Madan, his father Mayur Garg and his mother Gayatri Mahendram was documented on the family’s YouTube travel channel, The Brave Tourist. It is a seven-part series.
The family watched YouTube videos of other trekkers to prepare for this trip.
