A forum that represents single women have put forth their charter of demands pitching for enhanced budgetary allocation so that schemes like monthly pension and benefits for caregivers can be framed.
The forum viz The National Forum for Single Women’s Rights also made demands that the Central Government looks into the issues concerning single women, widows, unmarried, divorced, separated and abandoned women. They have requested both the Central and the State Governments to provide a monthly pension of Rs 3,000/ to all single women whose income was below the taxable limit and who don’t receive pension from any other sources.
