Separate queue for women voters

The Election Commission has made elaborate arrangements for the Lok Sabha elections to take place tomorrow. There will be separate queues for women. The Chief Electoral Officer Satyabrata Sahoo said that the movement of EVM’ s will be tracked through GPS. He said that priority would be given to physically handicapped people and pregnant women who need not stand in queues but can directly enter and cast their votes.

The CEO anticipates a higher voter turnout due to the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation activities and awareness campaigns by celebrities. In order to ensure smooth operation of polls, over 70,000/ police personnel will be deployed in poll related work and another 70,000/ would be involved in maintaining law and order.
