0

Three school girls all from Class 8 and ardent fans of BTS, the Korean pop band, had decided to travel all the way to Seoul in South Korea to meet the band members. The girls are from Karur district in Tamil Nadu.
The trio decided to take a ship to South Korea and shortlisted the seaports of Thoothukudi in Tamil Nadu and Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. They escaped from their homes on January 4th and travelled to Chennai from Erode by train.

The parents of the girls lodged a complaint with the Karur police and a search operation began. They managed to get a room in a hotel in Chennai but could not proceed further as they did not have passports or the required funds to travel to Seoul. Hence, they decided to return home. When they got down at Katpadi railway station to buy food, they missed the train and were interrogated by the police. They were counselled and later handed over to their parents.
