In order to promote the handloom industry of the country, a Handloom Saree Walk is being organised by the Spirit of Vizag Society as part of the National Handloom Day celebrations. The three kilometre long walk will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2023 from 6 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. and will start from Vishwapriya Functional Hall on the RK Beach road.
The main objective of this walk is to promote the handloom sector, to revive the traditional art of saree wearing and to encourage walking as a healthy habit. This event aims to bring together enthusiasts from all walks of life to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of our country.
Registrations have to be done on the website www.thespiritofvizag.com and a fee of Rs 100 to be paid. Registration is free for participants below 15 years and above 75 years. Each participant will receive a certificate of participation.
