Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty was granted bail by the Bombay High Court on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh. However, the bail petition of her brother Showik has been rejected. Rhea was arrested on the 8th of September on charges of being a part of a drug syndicate operating in Mumbai.
Her brother Showik was arrested on September 4th and is still in jail. Rhea’s plea for bail was rejected by the Special Court after which she filed an appeal before the Bombay High Court. She was placed in the Byculla jail. Many of her Bollywood friends have hailed the Bombay High Court’s decision but expressed their sadness over her brother remaining in jail. Her lawyer Satish Maneshinde expressed his delight over the decision of the Bombay High Court and said that truth and justice have prevailed.
