Archana Jain, a constable in the Uttar Pradesh police force was stressed out with the pressure and responsibilities of police duties coupled with the stress of motherhood.

She had to work by carrying her six month old baby with her as there was no one to take care of her. Pictures of her working at her desk with her daughter sleeping on the table caught the attention of her seniors. It was then that Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police, O.P. Singh ordered her transfer to a place closer home. The police force is also exploring creche options for the baby.
