Rajinikanth to be honored at IFFI

The 50th International Film Festival of India will be held in Goa from November 20th to the 28th and about 200 films from various countries will be screened. Actor Rajinikanth will be honoured with an ‘Icon of Golden Jubilee Award’ at the festival. Rajinikanth thanked the government on Twitter for deciding to confer the prestigious award to him.
Noted French actor Isabelle Huppert would be awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award. Out of the 200 films that would be screened, 24 of them would be in the race for Oscar nominations. The members of the festival steering committee will meet with the Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to discuss about the preparations for the event. In order to acknowledge the contribution of women to cinema, 50 films by women filmmakers will be screened. It is estimated that more than 10,000 cinema enthusiasts will attend the film festival.
