This was a time where actor Rahman was tired of playing cop roles. When director Karthick Naren came forward to narrate 16 (Dhruvangal Padhinaru in Tamil), the actor wasn’t keen in listening to the story at all. Seeing the persistence of the young man, Rahman sat through the narration and liked what he heard. It still took a couple of weeks for him to be convinced and now he is back!
