Actress Priyanka Chopra has regrets about promoting fairness creams in the past. While speaking about her upcoming memoir “Unfinished”, she recalled how her own insecurities about the colour of her skin stemmed from how she was treated by film industry influencers and the media. She narrated how she used to apply talcum powder cream on her face even as a little girl as she felt that dark skin was not pretty. She was very conscious of her skin colour as she was constantly told from a young age that women who were fair were prettier.
Priyanka did a commercial for a skin lightening cream where she played the role of a girl with insecurities when she was in her early twenties but regretted it later on.

She and many other Bollywood celebrities were called out for claiming to support the Black Lives Matter movement and condemning racism while having endorsed fairness creams.
On the work front, Priyanka’s latest film “The White Tiger” was released recently on Netflix. The film has been directed by Ramin Bahrani and is based on the Aarvind Adiga’s 2008 Booker Prize winning novel of the same name. The film also has Rajkummar Rao and Adarsh Gourav.
