Phoenix MarketCity’s Diwali Fest had something for everyone who visited the mall during the festive season. The highlight was a magnificent performance by the charismatic dancer, Priyadarsini Govind, who narrated the mythological Ramayana with her graceful moves.

Priyadarsini Govind presented the unusual rendering of the Ramayana for the evening at Club Crest in Phoenix MarketCity. She drew the audience into a dreamlike space with her magnificent performance, bringing alive Rama’s portrayal with her vivid imagery.

The act for the day started with a traditional prayer to invoke the blessings of Lord Shiva, the Supreme Dancer. As a devotee in love with the deity, with her passion towards the art form, she both mesmerized and awed the spectators leaving them spellbound throughout the two-hour long performance.

Everything in her performance, from the music, nritta to her expressions and the repertoire, complemented the entire recital, making the evening a memorable one to everybody who witnessed the rendition.

She concluded the performance with Thillana, an elaborate sequence of pure dance involving a fine display of dexterity. The performance captured the spirit and beauty of the art giving new life to the ancient South Indian dance form of Bharatanatyam.

Throughout the performance there were different emotions that were perfectly curated to communicate with the audience through her performance.

Thunderous applause filled the room as she concluded the recital.
