Prince Philip will reach an incredible milestone when he turns 100 in June 2021. However he doesn’t want to make a fuss about reaching this milestone. A Buckingham Palace aide described him as a “reluctant celebrant”. A small celebration will be held on June 10 th and plans for it will begin in earnest in the New Year. The Queen usually sends out a congratulatory telegram to all British citizens who turn 100 and this tradition will be followed here too. The Royal Family is expected to gather together and have a private celebration but it all depends upon the coronavirus restrictions. Prince Harry and wife Meghan are hoping to fly from their California home to attend the event. Prince Harry’s Invictus Games are scheduled to begin in the Hague on May 29th, 2021.

Earlier this year, the Queen celebrated her 94th birthday at a socially distanced ceremony at the Windsor Castle. The ceremony had a small number of Welsh Guardsmen and military musicians.
Prince Philip will become the first male member of the Royal Family to turn 100 and the first royal consort as well.
