A biopic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is being produced by Amit B Wadhwani and Sandip Singh with Vivekanand Oberoi in the lead role. Co-producer Amit has received death threats online and he has lodged a complaint with the cybercell.
A Facebook account with the name Optimistix has objected to Amit’s association with the movie. He was threatened by the Facebook user and slanderous remarks were made about his family. This goes to prove that cyberbullying is no longer rare but has become a common problem especially in Bollywood. According to Amit, filmmakers have often fallen prey to such agendas and Bollywood has become a soft target. The film industry is being viewed with a political lens instead of an artistic lens.
