Praggnanandhaa receives Arjuna award from President

Chess player R.Praggnanandhaa received the Arjuna award from President Draupadi Murmu at the National Sports and Adventure Awards 2022 ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Some of his top achievements include the bronze medal in the 44th Chess Olympiad 2022 and Gold medal in the FIDE Online Olympiad, 2020.


The big talents of Indian sports were recognised for their achievements in the past few years at a specially organised ceremony. This event is traditionally held each year to commemorate the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand. A host of dignitaries including Sports Minister Anurag Thakur and his deputy Nisith Pramanik attended the ceremony.
Discus thrower Seema Punia was the first to receive the Arjuna award from the President followed by the others.
