Covaxin is India’s indigenous vaccine against Covid-19. This is seen as an important step in the post-pandemic partnership between India and Australia.
The borders of Australia were reopened for the first time after 20 months. Australia’s medicines and medical devices regulator formally recognised India’s Covaxin. It has already recognised Covishield.
Hyderabad based Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin and AstraZeneca and Oxford University’s Covishield are the two vaccines used in India.
