PM Modi meets leaders of churches in Kerala

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met leaders of various churches in Kerala on Monday. This is seen as the BJP’s efforts to reach out to the minority christian community in Kerala ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.


The Prime Minister who visited Kerala on a two day visit, met 8 top leaders of the church including Syro-Malabar Catholic Church head Cardinal George Alencherry, Syro-Malankara Catholic Church head Cardinal Baselios Cleemis, Syrian Orthodox Church head Baselios Marthoma Mathews III, Metropolitan Trustee of the Jacobite Church Joseph Mor Gregorios, Archbishop Joseph Kalathiparambil of the Latin Catholic Church, Archbishop Mathew Moolakkatt of Knanaya Church, Archbishop Kuriakose Mar Severios of the Knanaya Jacobite Church and Mar Awgin Kuriakose of the Chaldean Syrian Church.
The meeting took place at Hotel Taj Malabar as part of the BJP’s outreach campaign ‘Sneha Yatra’.
