PM addresses citizens on Constitution Day


Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressed citizens on the event of Constitution Day and paid homage to those who died on this day during the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. Hundreds of innocent people lost their lives on this day.

Every year, India observes November 26 as Constitution Day to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution by the Constituent Assembly in 1949. Several programmes have been organised in Parliament and Vigyan Bhavan. It was earlier known as National Law Day or Samvidhan Divas.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his best wishes to citizens and shared a part of the speech that Dr. Ambedkar delivered in the Constituent Assembly on November 4, 1948.
The Congress on its part, shared a video of India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru wherein he gave a speech about the Constitution of India.
The observance of Constitution Day started in the year 2015.
