Chennai: PAHAR launched their latest collection AVIMUKTA in a theatrical fashion show conceptualized and styled by Harsha Vardhini and Parkavi Ramasamy. The fashion show combined with theatre performance had the models walking the ramp while the play was being performed.
PAHAR’s new collection AVIMUKTA- Avant-Garde Benares by Harsha Vardhini and Parkavi Ramasamy is inspired by the multitudinous faces of Varanasi in all its splendour. The fabric tells a powerful tale of India’s cultural heritage reflected in royal tones of sea greens, deep blues and calming pastel tones of peaches and off whites. The silhouettes range from jackets to jumpsuits, gowns to skirts that are perfect for a global audience.
‘Pahar’, a derivative of Ewa Lifestyle, is a portmanteau of the names Harsha Vardhini and Parkavi Ramasamy, the designers of the brand, as well as of Indian and western cultures – a core that elucidates their brand’s vocabulary. Pahar, a traditional unit of time, also connotes the perdurable nature of their work – making it something to pass on for generations. A fresh kaleidoscopic palette, urban motifs, impeccable fabrics from across the globe, and practical usage makes Pahar a cut above the rest. In fact, it bridges the gap between the pragmatic and the stylish. Pahar also incorporates exceptional weavers from the textile industry of the country and a distinguished in-house dyeing, printing and embroidery team.
The story begins at a fine, eventful family gathering, where cousins Harsha Vardhini and Parkavi Ramasamy exchanged conversations, couture interests and a myriad of ideas that laid the canvas for Ewa Lifestyle – a multifaceted lifestyle company.
