Prince Harry and Meghan invited to coronation of King Charles III

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have been invited to attend the coronation of King Charles III in May but reports say that the couple have not made up their minds whether to attend the coronation or not. Incidentally, May 6, the coronation day, also happens to be the fourth birthday of their son Archie.


Harry and Meghan stepped down from the British monarchy in 2020 due to growing internal tension. They made rare visits to the UK after relocating to the United States.
The coronation will be a grand ceremony and the main function will be held on May 6 and will be attended by dignitaries from all over the world and will also be watched by billions of people. There will be a star studded concert, a nationwide big lunch, a traditional ceremony and royal processions.

Attack on Lionel Messi’s wife’s family store

Two men fired 14 bullets into the metallic facade of a closed supermarket belonging to the family of Lionel Messi’s wife in Rosario, Argentina in the early hours of Thursday. They also left a threatening message for Messi. The handwritten message left on the ground said ”Messi, we’re waiting for you. Javkin is a narco, he won’t take care of you.”


Pablo Javkin is the mayor of Rosario, the hometown of Messi. The supermarket is also located there. According to Javkin, the attack was done to create chaos in the city. There are pictures which show holes in a window of the supermarket. No one was hurt as the incident is said to have taken place around 3 in the morning. A witness confirmed seeing two men arrive on a motorbike, that one man got down, fired the shots, dropped the note and then both fled.
Messi is married to Antonela Roccuzzo and the couple have three children.

PAN details of celebrities used for cyber fraud

In a bizarre cyber fraud case, PAN details of Bollywood actors and cricketers were used by a group of fraudsters. They got their GST Identification Numbers that were available online and later obtained credit cards in their names from Pune based fintech startup ‘One Card’
Some of the celebrities whose names and details were used by fraudsters include Abhishek Bachchan, Shilpa Shetty, Madhuri Dixit, Emraan Hashmi and Mahendra Singh Dhoni. According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Shahadra Rohit Meena, investigations are going on in the matter.


The five fraudsters used the cards to purchase products worth Rs 21.32 lakh. They have been identified as Puneet, Mohammed Asif, Sunil Kumar, Pankaj Mishra and Vishwa Bhaskar Sharma. All five have been arrested.

Nagaland gets first women MLAs

For the first time in 60 years, two women were elected as MLAs in the state of Nagaland. The two women are lawyers- Hekhani Jakhalu and Salhoutuonuo of the ruling Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party.
Hekhani Jakhalu defeated her nearest rival and sitting MLA Azheto Zhimoni of the Lok Janshakti Party by 1,536 votes. She is a lawyer and founder of YouthNet Nagaland, an organization that works for the upliftment of educated unemployed youth in the state.


The other winner, Salhoutuono Kruse, from the ruling Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party, defeated the sitting MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro by a very narrow margin of just seven votes. She served as the President of the influential Angami Women Organisation. She is the widow of Kevisekho Kruse, a retired government employee who contested the previous Assembly elections on the same party ticket from the same seat but was defeated.

Two men detained for breaking into Shah Rukh Khan’s bungalow

Two young men aged between 20 and 22 broke into actor Shah Rukh Khan’s bungalow Mannat in Mumbai on Thursday. They claimed that they are from Gujarat and came to meet Shah Rukh Khan.


Police sources said that the men were caught by security guards in the actor’s house after they entered Mannat’s premises by scaling the compound wall. They were handed over to the police and were questioned extensively. A case of trespassing and other offences were registered against the men under the Indian Penal Code and investigations are going on. Shah Rukh was not at home when this incident took place and was busy shooting for the film ‘Jawan’
Shah Rukh recently delivered a superhit film ‘Pathaan’ that has broken many records at the box office. It has hit the Rs 1,000 crore mark at the worldwide box office. This film also features John Abraham and Deepika Padukone.

Case registered against Uber driver for misbehaving with journalist

Delhi Police have registered a case against a Uber auto driver for allegedly misbehaving with a woman journalist in New Delhi. They are trying to trace the driver.
An FIR has been registered under section 509 of the IPC (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman). Delhi Commission for Women chairperson Swati Maliwal said that a notice has also been issued to Uber India over the unfortunate incident of molestation of a woman journalist.


The journalist was travelling by an Uber auto to visit her friend in Malviya Nagar when the driver started staring at her from the mirrors. When she objected, he did not stop but turned around and started looking inappropriately at her. She therefore filed a police complaint and tweeted about the incident. The Delhi Women’s Commission swung into action after seeing her tweet.

Belgian woman who killed her 5 children euthanised

Genevieve Lhermitte, a Belgian woman who killed her 5 children has been euthanised at her own request after a period of 16 years. She slit the throats of her son and four daughters aged 3 to 14 with a kitchen knife in their home in Nivelles on February 28, 2007 when their father was away.


She later tried to commit suicide by stabbing herself. As the attempt failed, she called the emergency services. Genevieve was convicted for murder and sentenced to life imprisonment in the year 2008 and was later shifted to a psychiatric hospital in 2019.
According to Belgian law, people can choose to be euthanised if they suffer from unbearable physical or psychological issues that cannot be healed. However, the person should be conscious of their decision and be capable of expressing their wish in a consistent manner. Genevieve chose to be euthanized on February 28, 2023, which happens to be the sixteenth anniversary of the murders.

Bharata Kalanjali presents the second edition of ‘Jharna’ – A festival dedicated to the arts, will be held between March 3-5,2023 and March 10-12, 2023

After the successful first edition of Jharna held in March 2022, Bharata Kalanjali is happy to announce that the second edition of Jharna, a festival dedicated to the arts, will be held between March 3-5,2023 and March 10-12, 2023.

The festival was born from the desire to provide a stage for upcoming artists. It also serves the dual purpose of hosting a Live audience to experience the art intimately while at the same time taking the art and spirit to a global audience.

We take pride in the fact that the festival’s debut gave many up-and-coming artists a platform and opened doors for them. We have also received multiple enquiries from abroad to conduct Jharna under the Bharata Kalanjali banner.

After a rigorous selection process, 9 exceptional dancers have been shortlisted from 88 applicants. These Bharatanaatyam dancers will explore and experiment with choreography around a theme that will be guided by the institution. Dancers will ideate, conceptualise and create fresh work that is both engaging and inspiring. The participants will go through the entire creative process of moulding a new piece of art from scratch, under the guidance of our esteemed panel of gurus at Bharata Kalanjali.

Spanning over two weekends the festival will also host a special music concert.

This festival is dedicated to the arts community and seeks to provide a stage for those who could not step onto one over the pandemic. It is an attempt to savour art in its true essence while giving talented artists a platform to showcase their art.

Elon Musk once again becomes world’s richest man

Elon Musk has reclaimed his title of the world’s richest person after Tesla’s stock prices surged. He was briefly dethroned in December 2022 but after a period of 2 months, he has reclaimed the number one spot.


A report from Bloomberg shows that in December 2022, after Tesla shares saw a decline, CEO of Louis Vuitton Bernard Arnault became the world’s richest person. Musk’s net worth now stands at USD 187 billion. At the beginning of the year, his net worth was USD 137 billion. He became the world’s richest person since September 2021. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos held the top spot before that.
Elon Musk is the CEO of Tesla that sells electric vehicles and home solar batteries. He is also the CEO of SpaceX, and also has a stake in social networking company Twitter.

Italian Prime Minister to visit India

Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni will pay a two day visit to India on March 2nd and 3rd and will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajan and a high powered business delegation.
This trip is said to strengthen bilateral engagement in areas of defence, security, economy and technology. It will be the first high-level trip from Italy after five years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Meloni will discuss bilateral, regional and global issues according to the Ministry of External Affairs .PM Meloni will also visit President Droupadi Murmu.


India and Italy will be celebrating 75 years of establishment of diplomatic relations this year. This visit by PM Meloni is expected to further strengthen and deepen the long-standing relationship between India and Italy.
A previous summit between PM Modi and his then Italian counterpart Giuseppe Conte took place virtually in November 2020.

India/UK Together, a Season of Culture, reaches a high note with the Concert for Friendship

The highly anticipated Concert for Friendship is set to mark the crescendo of the year-long India/UK Together – a Season of Culture. This mesmerising musical extravaganza will bring together renowned artists from India and Scotland for an unforgettable evening of music and culture. Organised by the KM Music Conservatory in collaboration with British Council, the Concert for Friendship is a celebration of the shared cultural heritage between India and the UK. The concert will take place on Saturday, 4 March and promises to be an unforgettable experience for music lovers.

The aim of the collaboration is to explore musical ideas and provide an opportunity for the exchange of cultures.

AR Rahman Foundation’s Sunshine Orchestra, Sistema Scotland’s Big Noise, and KM Music Conservatory

have been working remotely to listen to and learn each other’s music in advance of the India visit. The groups will be working together in person a week before the actual performance. The concert that brings together young and emerging artists from India and the UK, not only aims to celebrate the rich musical traditions of both countries but also opens opportunities on global platforms for these talented students who mostly have limited access to resources. Bringing together students, especially at a young age, can be a life-changing experience that leaves an indelible mark on them and promotes deeper learning. This programme has been carefully curated, keeping in mind the sensibilities and life experiences of these young artists.

During the upcoming residency week in India, a wider outreach programme will take place alongside the main concert, involving young musicians and their teachers, holding workshops for schools in Chennai, in association with Rhapsody Music Education. In addition to the workshops, there will be a special open-access performance presented before the main concert, allowing those who would otherwise not have access to experience the music and appreciate the skills of the young musicians. The initiative aims to promote the positive benefits of music education and its transformative abilities to a wide audience and encourage more young people.

SpaceX crew to take off on voyage to space today

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will take off to the International Space Station from the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida at (0645 GMT) today. It will carry two NASA astronauts, a Russian cosmonaut and a man from the UAE.


NASA’s Stephen Bowen and Warren Hoburg, Russia’s Andrey Fedyaev and Sultan al-Neyadi of the United Arab Emirates will spend six months on the orbiting space station. Neyadi will be the fourth astronaut from an Arab country and the second from the United Arab Emirates to journey to space.It will also be the first space flight for Warren Hoburg and Fedyaev.
Space has remained a rare venue of cooperation between Moscow and Washington since the Russian attack on Ukraine has led to a dispute between Russia and US.
NASA is said to pay SpaceX to ferry astronauts to the flying laboratory roughly every six months.

Woman from Chhattisgarh who fought with wild boar to save daughter’s life dies

A 45 year old woman named Duvsiya Bai from Korba district in Chhattisgarh went to the agricultural field to collect soil with her 11 year old daughter. While they were busy digging soil, the woman spotted a wild boar rushing to attack her daughter. The woman rushed to rescue her daughter and courageously fought with the boar. The struggle lasted for around half an hour after which both the woman and the boar died.


The forest department, on being informed about this incident, rushed to the village and carried out an investigation. Meanwhile an instant relief of Rs 25,000 has been given to the relative of the victim.
This heartbreaking incident took place at Teliyamar village under the Pasan forest range, said a forest ranger.

Ten year old boy visits Ukraine to hand over books to children

Milan Paul Kumar is a 10 year old British Indian from Bolton in Greater Manchester, northern England. He is an award winning fundraiser and he travelled to Poland with his parents to hand over books and stationery products that he collected in the UK to the Ukrainian children who were displaced due to Russia’s invasion.


Kumar’s visit was just ahead of the first anniversary of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. He handed over coloured pencils, markers, colouring books and also donated gifts to a neighbouring public library so that the Polish and Ukrainian children could make use of them.
Kumar was invited to the Ukrainian Consulate and his humanitarian mission was backed by several organisations including the National Literacy Trust. Kumar washed vehicles and donated his pocket money to Ukrainian schools last year and received the Princess Diana Award in 2022 for his fundraising efforts.
