UP man bites nose of wife for bringing less dowry

Ajmi, a resident of Maheshpur in Uttar Pradesh has filed an FIR against 6 members of her husband’s family at the CB Ganj police station, a couple of days ago. The complaint was for assault on her and dowry harassment.


Ajmi had married Nazim one and a half years ago and had a five month old son . She stated in her complaint that her in-laws were continuously torturing her for not bringing enough dowry. She was thrown out of her matrimonial home several times but each time, a compromise was reached by the Panchayat.
According to Ajmi, on December 15th, things took a turn for the worse when her in-laws assaulted her and her husband injured her by biting her nose.
The police have taken the complaint on file and are conducting investigations into the matter.

TN CM meets PM Modi and requests for release of relief funds

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and urged him to release the interim relief funds of Rs 7,033 crore and the permanent relief fund of Rs 12,659 at the earliest.

He presented a memorandum to the Prime Minister in New Delhi on the 19th of December and urged him to declare Cyclone Michaung and the torrential downpour in the southern districts as national calamities.
He also briefed the Prime Minister about the widespread devastation caused in Chennai and surrounding districts. Earlier this month, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and the Central team visited Chennai .
The relief amount sought by the State government would be used to carry out repairs of roads, bridges, schools, government hospitals and other public infrastructure.

UK bride wears denim lehenga for wedding

Ahaana Khosla, a fashion enthusiast did not want to follow the beaten track when it came to choosing her wedding outfit. She was looking for something different. She therefore asked her father Manoviraj Khosla, a menswear fashion designer based in Bengaluru to create a wedding lehenga in denim.


Ahaana ditched the traditional lehenga and opted for a unique denim lehenga which had floral embroidered motifs. It was paired with a matching sleeveless blouse and a tulle dupatta. It was created by her father.
Not to be left behind, the groom Shehan Minocher, opted for a denim bandhgala, white trousers and denim footwear.
The couple’s choice of their wedding outfits shows the fashion evolution in the Indian fashion scene.

Ranbir Kapoor’s film Animal rakes in big money

The film Animal directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga starring Ranbir Kapoor has been raking in big money at the box office. The film is an action-drama with a complex father-son relationship story.
The film has a strong cast of Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Tripti Dimri. It has been released in all languages.


Ranbir who spoke about the film ahead of its release said that the film is basically about a man who goes to any extent to protect his family. Ranbir played the role of Sandeep, a very complex character. It was released in theatres on December 1.
However, in spite of its success, the film has also received negative reviews from people who felt that it was violent and had very intimate scenes too.
With this blockbuster film, Ranbir Kapoor is ending the year 2023 on a great note as the film has so far brought in collection of Rs 498.14 crore.

Frederique Constant unveils Classics Heart Beat Automatic

The Classics collection has established itself over the years as one of Frederique Constant’s pillars. In 2022, the Brand returns to the aesthetic roots of one of its flagship lines, the “Classics Automatic”, with no less than five new self-winding models: three Index versions and two Heart Beat variations – this famous opening on the dial revealing the balance-wheel, which has become the Maison’s signature. Featuring a 40 mm case, these two timepieces feature a delicate guilloché decoration accompanied by Roman numerals, attributes of a classic and timeless appearance.

If there is an often-said watchmaking phrase, it is that the dial is the face of the watch. Although the technological race now results in increasing complications, it is sometimes forgotten that the identity of a watch is not solely expressed by how many rubies it has or the torque of its barrel spring, but also, and quite simply, by its dial. It is what conveys a watchmaker’s identity values and that is immediately recognisable.

It is with this in mind that Frederique Constant is returning to the sources of classicism which, over the centuries, has defined timeless aesthetic ideals. Among them: a guilloché dial, a discreet date window and Breguet-style hands. And delicate Roman numeral indexes. The latter are back in the Classics Index Automatic line, in the centre of three new automatic movement variations. The first boasts a pink gold-plated case worn on a dark brown leather strap, with a silver dial superimposed by three hands indicating the time via 12 indexes set around a satin-finish hour circle: a prestigious, timeless composition, whose elegance is guaranteed.

Two other variations use the same composition with a steel case: one with a silver dial, the other with a khaki dial, both worn with a black leather strap. Each model is powered by the automatic FC-303 calibre, offering a power reserve of 38 hours.

These last two new watches, with a silver or khaki dial – displaying the same aesthetic features as the Classics Index Automatic models – offer a variant, rich in symbols, thanks to an alternative “Heart Beat”. This design invented by Frederique Constant uniquely highlights the beating heart of the watch, hence its name.

The first Frederique Constant Heart Beat watch was created in 1994. Since then, its original design has often been copied and adapted, but it is never as pure and authentic as in a genuine Frederique Constant watch. This is what these two Classics Heart Beat Automatic watches offer: an homage to the founding spirit of the watchmaker and the rediscovery of a design which takes its rightful place among the classics of fine Geneva watchmaking.

The latter, beating to the rhythm of the FC-310 calibre with automatic winding, have a 30-hour power reserve.
