Christopher Nolan and his works always equals to pure brilliance. Be it the Batman trilogy or the Inception or the Memento or Prestige, Nolan have superseded directors like Stanley Kubrick and the like in the current generation with his brilliant screenplay, direction and choice of actors. Interstellar is a sci-fi movie that tells the story of how Earth has been ravaged by an environmental disaster known as the Blight – forcing humanity to abandon technology and the dreams of discovery, in order to focus on basic survival. To that end, former NASA pilot Cooper (Matthew McConaughey), a widowed father of two, is now a farmer tasked with growing one of the planet’s last remaining sustainable crops: corn. In a time when humankind has been asked to put aside personal desire in the interest of a greater good, Cooper has attempted to make peace with farm life, providing for his teenage children, Tom (Timothée Chalamet) and Murph (Mackenzie Foy), as well as his aging father-in-law (John Lithgow). Yet, even as conditions become increasingly dire on Earth, Cooper’s thirst for scientific discovery remains. However, when Cooper is reunited with an old colleague, Professor Brand (Michael Caine), he is offered a new chance to fulfill an old ambition. Informed that the situation on Earth is much more serious than he previously knew, Cooper is asked to leave his family behind (in an increasingly dangerous world) and set out on an uncertain journey into space – to find humankind a new planet. Interstellar has amazing cinematography by Hoyte Van Hoytema of Her, The Fighter, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy fame and brilliant music score by Nolan’s favourite Hans Zimmer. The movie is thought provoking, Dystopian and worth a watch definitely.

After the surprise appearance on-stage at Pharrell’s recent concert in Paris, Cara Delevingne and Pharrell Williams have teamed up once again for Reincarnation, an exclusive video shot by the label’s creative director,Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel. The video is based around an anecdote from the 1950s, when Gabrielle Chanel met a young elevator operator in a hotel in the Austrian city, wearing a jacket which eventually inspired the iconic Chanel design. Karl Lagerfeld has re-told this story with the help of actress and director- Geraldine Chaplin, Cara Delevingne and Pharrell Williams, who has also written and composed the song called CC The World. The video was unveiled at the Paris-Salzburg 2014/15 Métiers d’art collection in Salzburg, Austria.The surprise element was Cara singing along to Pharrell’s tunes. This might be one of the most powerful and exciting collaborations in recent times we say!
The goodness of Olive oil
The uses of Olive oil are so many and it is so versatile that it can be used both internally and externally. Olive oil is the only oil closer in chemical structure to the skin’s natural oil than any other naturally occurring oil. It has regenerative power over skin tissue and thus regular usage ensures that your skin remains soft and smooth while keeping it toned and firmed. Make a paste using olive oil and mashed avocados and apply it on your face. Let it work on your skin for 20-25 minutes and then rinse. This mask will leave your skin rejuvenated. You can also use it for for deep conditioning your hair, take equal quantities of olive oil and water and mix them together. Apply this on your scalp just after you have shampooed. Let this mixture work its magic for 5-10 minutes followed by another round of rinsing with shampoo.
Olive oil is cholesterol, sodium and carbohydrate-free. While cooking and sautéing, do not heat it for too long as olive oil has tendency to burn easily and this makes it lose all its benefits. Just heat the oil for not more than 20-30 seconds and use it. You also need to take care that 80% of the antioxidant components in olive oil are lost in the process of refinement and so always buy extra virgin olive oil or cold pressed olive oil for usage. Olive oil can also be used in many different cooking ways as it only coats, and does not penetrates, so foods fried in olive oil are less greasy than foods fried in other oil.

Paper out of elephant poo? Yes you heard that right! Its paper made from elephant poo and the folks at Haathi Chaap are crazy enough to make it. Haathi Chaap’s Vijendra Singh Shekawat and Mahima Mehra who struck gold out this idea decided to go ahead with it when they realized how much fibre is there in the poo. The elephant’s diet which is primarily vegetation, combined with a rather inactive digestive system makes elephant dung one of the best to make paper. The process of making these papers are similar to making handmade papers except that here they use the pachyderm’s dung. The colour of the paper depends entirely on what he/ she eats, which depends on what season of the year it is. So, from June to September, since the elephants eat jowar (sorghum) and bajra (pearl millet), the paper is darker in colour. And for the rest of the year they eat sugarcane, the paper is lighter in colour. Colours, if added, comprise of mostly vegetable and natural dyes and no bleach is used.
