‘Art of the Matter’ is a community-driven art platform and initiative project by Tribal Hearts to encourage and support collaborations between Art and Community development. Art has always been an engraved form of expression that has the power to impact change, inspire, evoke emotion and bring communities together. Encompassing this idea, ‘Art of the Matter’ hopes to be a stepping stone towards building a creative network with open interactions, discussions and dialogues that will include community projects in any form of creativity. This event is a community art exhibition featuring small format artworks created by participants from various fields wherein no qualifications are required to participate, just a love for creating in any form for a cause dear to them.

Ramakrishna, among many other noteworthy artistes& dignitaries.

ICMR Gets Second Woman Head In 100-Year History

Women scientists in India had a reason to cheer this week (17 August, 2015) when Soumya Swaminathan took over as secretary to India’s Department of Health Research and head of Indian Council of Medial Research (ICMR), the country’s apex body for biomedical research. Swaminathan, until recently the director of Chennai based National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis, is only the second woman scientist (besides Gowdagere Satyavati) to head the ICMR in its over 100-year history. At the moment, she is also the lone woman to head any public science agency in the country.

Dreamweaver Sameer Junaidi presented his menswear collection MAKRANDA at ‘India Luxury Style Week 2015’, Bangalore on 14^th August. The show was a successful event with Ismail Darbar and Vidyut Jamwal walking the ramp as showstoppers for Sameer Junaidi.

Inspired by the city of thousand temples, his collection is a reflection of South’s rich heritage and luxury. Luxuriously Hand-woven Kanjeevaram sarees have been transformed to elegantly form edgy, clean cut, royal Indian menswear with a hint of modernism. The sheer magnitude of textures, colours and designs of Kanjeevaram silk sarees of India is incredible. Keeping the aesthetics of the original form intact, the collection plays around cleverly with sleek silhouettes making the ensembles chic and classy. Vivacious contrasting colours with a combination of modern and traditional motifs on the saree formed the base of his inspiration. The collection is an effort to promote the handloom industry of India.
