One crore reward announced to trace former Chennai mayor’s son

Vetri Duraisamy, the son of former Chennai mayor Saidai Duraisamy is reported missing after his car fell into the Sutlej river in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh on Sunday afternoon. His family has announced a reward of Rs 1 crore for anyone who can find him.

Vetri and Gopinath had gone to visit Spiti valley in Lahaul Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh and they were returning from there and proceeding towards Shimla in a car driven by Tenzin, a resident of Tabo in Spiti. Suddenly, the driver lost control of the car when they were travelling on National Highway -5 and the car fell into river Sutlej. The driver’s body was recovered by the search team but Vetri could not be found.
The other passenger Gopinath fell out of the car while it was overturning and sustained grievous injuries. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
The district administration has deployed more than 100 police personnel, the Army and NDRF personnel to find Vetri.
