The Madras High Court directed the Director General of Police to conduct training programmes for the officers who conduct investigation into crimes against women. In a case, the accused trespassed into the house of the victim and raped her in front of her younger sisters.

A complaint was lodged after 5 days as the family of the victim wanted to hush up the issue. The victim was subjected to medical examination 18 days after the incident. The investigation done by the police officer was done in a casual manner. Hence the Judge observed that the police officers conducting Investigations should be given proper training.
