Chef Parveen Khan grew up watching her mother, often referred to as the Sulthana of Spices, teach legions of young Hyderabadi women the unique style of her cooking, and host Hyderabadi food festivals in upscale hotels across the country and eventually abroad in Asia, the U.S., and the U.K. This prompted Chef Parveen to surpass her mother’s cooking by learning to analyze tastes and flavors, which eventually led her to write the cookbook ‘Hyderabadi Khasa,’ which also chronicles the history of Hyderabadi cuisine from the days of Qutb Shahi rule to today’s fusion of old and new ingredients and techniques
