Mithali Raj completes 20,000 career runs

Mithali Raj, captain of the Indian women’s cricket team added another feather to her cap by completing 20,000 career runs. She also scored her fifth consecutive fifty in ODIs while playing against Australia in the ongoing first ODI of the three match series played at the Harrup Park in Mackay. Mithali also holds the record for the highest scorer in women’s international cricket across three formats of the game.
She became the highest scorer in international cricket during the tour of England earlier this year.


The Indian skipper scored 61 runs from 107 balls and the team posted 225/8 in the allotted 50 overs. Yastrika Bhatia scored 35 runs and along with captain Mithali scored 77 runs for the third wicket. Richa Ghosh and Jhulan Goswami played knocks of 32 and 20 respectively. However, Australia restricted India to 225/8 with Darcie Brown’s four wicket haul.
