Man from Israel grows world’s heaviest strawberry

Ariel Chahi from Israel grew a strawberry that weighed almost 300 grams. It was 18 cm long, 4 cm thick and 34 cm in circumference. It has been confirmed by the Guinness World Records that it is the world’s heaviest strawberry. It weighed exactly 289 grams.


The strawberry is of the Ilan variety and was grown by Ariel’s family business”Strawberries in the Field”. He has shared a video on Instagram where he first weighed an iPhone XR and then the strawberry on a weighing machine. The iPhone weighed 194 grams and the strawberry 289 grams. He then took a measuring tape to measure the length, breadth and circumference of the strawberry. The video got more than 700k views and 62 k likes in less than 10 hours.


The previous record for the world’s heaviest strawberry was made in January 2015 and was grown by Koji Nakao from Japan. It weighed 250 grams of the Japanese variety of strawberry called Amaou.
