Sreenath Bhasi, a malayalam actor was arrested by the Kerala police for using abusive words at a woman journalist during an interview.
The journalist lodged a complaint with the police and the actor was summoned to the Maradu police station and kept under arrest. The arrest was recorded under various sections of the Indian Penal Code that deal with using words or gestures intending to insult the modesty of a woman in or near any public place.
Since the offence was a bailable one, he would be let out on bail after the medical examination was done.
The alleged incident took place on September 21 during a promotional interview for the actor’s new film ‘ Chattambi’. The journalist alleged that Sreenath lost his temper when she asked him a question about the title of the film and that he abused her and the crew after the camera was turned off.
