Latika Nath- The ”Tiger Princess”


Dr. Latika Nath is the first Indian as well as the first woman to do a doctorate on tigers. She entered into the field of wildlife conservation in spite of numerous challenges.
Latika not only worked for Tiger conservation but with several international organisations on species including the Asian elephant, snow leopards, gangetic dolphins, wild buffaloes etc.
She used writing and photography as tools to spread awareness on wildlife conservation.
She is currently working on a conservation project called ‘Hidden India’ which connects wilderness with cultures and communities.

Due to her contribution to this field, she has been awarded the title of ”Tiger Princess” by National Geographic.
And this is not all, Latika is also a scientist, researcher, conservationist, author, wildlife photographer and an underwater photographer. Her enthusiasm and contribution to these fields have been an inspiration to many people.
