Lt .Governor of Puducherry rode by bus instead of taking a car not only following the practice of austerity but also to promote the concept of joyful learning while visiting Thazuthali a village in Tindivanam taluk. Ms.Bedi visited the village along with a team where the Srishti foundation has been training villagers in farming and other vocational skills.
She asked the officials to learn collectively from the down to earth and innovative techniques followed by the villagers. She expressed satisfaction at the improvements such as strengthening of the bund and clearing of hyacinth. She suggested a set of measures to be implemented over the week. It included maintenance and cleaning of the lake and formation of Kanakan Student Police.
