King Charles III celebrated his 74th birthday on Monday, the 14th of November. It marked his first birthday as a monarch. There was a 21-gun salute in Green Park, close to Buckingham Palace and a rendition of the Happy Birthday song by the guards at the palace.

He ascended the throne on September 8th this year after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II. A new photo of King Charles III has been released in honour of his 74th birthday. It shows the monarch leaning back against a huge ancient oak tree and dressed in a tweed blazer and corduroy trousers. He is seen holding a walking stick and looking out into the distance.
The King has officially become the Ranger of Windsor Great Park, seventy years after his father, His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Ednburgh was appointed to the post.
