The state has eased lockdown from July 18th -20th in view of Bakrid

Even as protests rise in the state against the strict regulations, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan warned that the next 125 days is crucial for Kerala as there is threat of the third wave. In view of Bakrid, the Kerala government had eased lockdown restrictions from July 18th- 20th so that people can shop and make purchases for the festive season.

Film production houses under FEFKA had also expressed concern that film shoots being stalled is a cause of major concern. Though it meant higher expenses many film shoots were being shifted outside the state to ensure that shoots were not stalled. The government has now granted permission to resume shoots under Covid protocols. But today Kerala recorded 16184 fresh Covid cases with the Test positivity rate remaining over 10 percent. CM Pinarayi Vijayan appealed to the people that they must remain vigilant lest we have to face the onslaught of a third wave.
