Cheruthuruthy policemen in Kerala’s Thrissur district are growing vegetables on vehicles confiscated by them after they piled up around the compound of the police station. These confiscated vehicles, ranging from two-wheelers to heavy vehicles, remain there for years. Vexed by the sight the police started growing organic vegetables in some of them. A civil police officer who is also a farmer takes care of the cultivation along with officers. They planted lady’s finger, spinach, and long beans and are reportedly planning to grow other vegetables too.

Kudos to the great minds for initiating the plan to grow and yield our own food. Let’s take this as an example and practice sustainable living.
