She won the polls by a margin of 60,000 votes in Kerala Assembly Elections
The communist party witnessed a sweeping win at the Kerala Assembly elections held this year but what was most amazing was the fact that the Health Minister, KK Shailaja fondly called as ‘Shailaja Teacher’ won by a margin of 60,000 votes which is the highest in the history of Kerala. Her fight against the deadly Nipah and now the Corona virus has been much appreciated across the world and she has been addressed as the ‘Rockstar’! She won at her constituency Mattannur, Kannur against Illikkal Augusthy of Revolutionary Socialist Party and BJP candidate , Biju Elakkuzhi.
