Indian origin doctor nominated to WHO Executive Board

Dr. Vivek Murthy has been nominated as US Surgeon by US President Joe Biden to serve as the country’s representative on the executive board of the World Health Organization.


Dr. Murthy. is of Indian origin who previously served as the 19th Surgeon General under former President Barack Obama. His mission is to help lay the foundation for a healthier country by relying on the best scientific information available, to address a number of critical public health issues including the growing proliferation of health misinformation.
Dr. Murthy 45, was raised in Miami and graduated from Harvard , the Yale School of Medicine and the Yale School of Management. He is a renowned physician and lives in Washington DC with his wife Dr. Alice and their 2 children.
