Indian-American Neal Mohan to become YouTube CEO

The chief product officer of YouTube Neal Mohan will be the new head of the world’s largest online video platform. The current Chief Executive Officer Susan Wojcicki will be stepping down after being at the helm for 9 years.


Susan Wojcicki, 54 was previously a senior vice president for ad products at Google. She became CEO of YouTube in 2014. She was one of Google’s earliest employees and has worked with the parent company Alphabet Inc for almost 25 years. She stated that she will now focus on family, health and personal projects.
Indian American Neal Mohan will join a growing list of Indian-origin CEOs at the helm of US-based global giants including Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayan and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai. He joined Google, the parent company of YouTube in 2008. He is a Stanford graduate who earlier worked for Microsoft. He became the chief product officer of YouTube in 2015.
