Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan has revealed that most likely India would get the coronavirus vaccine by the beginning of next year.
Even the World Health Organization predicted the same thing. Chief scientist Sowmya Swaminathan has stated that at least one vaccine would be poised for registration by the end of this year or by the beginning of next year. Out of the 40 vaccine candidates, some are in clinical trials and 10 of them are in phase three trials. Plans are on as to how to roll out the distribution of the vaccine in the country. It would be first made available to those who have a higher rate of getting infected like the frontline health professionals. Limited quantities of the vaccine would be made available initially. India’s recovery rate has climbed up to 86.7%.
