Fasting comes with a lot of benefits to our health, says a new study. The study, led by a team from the University of California-Irvine (UCI), found that fasting helps in rewiring the metabolism of circadian clocks in the liver and skeletal muscle, thus boosting overall health.


The circadian clock functions within our body as intrinsic time-keeping machinery to maintain homeostasis. It was not clear for a long time how the lack of food affects clock function and finally influences our body.
