With the Board examinations around the corner the Madras High Court asked the counsel appearing for the striking Teachers Association if they were willing to give up the strike at least till the end of the academic year.

Justice  Prabhakaran asked the Government Pleader ( Education) to find out the stand of the State Government on the demands made by the teachers. It is a long pending issue and the Government was not coming forward for discussions. Ultimately it will be the students who will suffer as board exams are around the corner. It is not only the teachers who are on strike but also other government employees who want payment on par with the Central Government employees.
