French President Emmanuel Macron will be the chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi on January 26th, 2024. Earlier US President Joe Biden was invited as well but it has been reported that he may not be able to attend the celebrations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the French President in July during his visit to France when he took part in the Bastille Day celebrations as the Guest of Honour.

His visit also marked the 25th anniversary of the strategic partnership between India and France.
To mark this anniversary, a 241 member armed forces contingent led by a military band also participated in the parade.
Emmanuel Macron visited India in September to attend the G20 Summit and held a bilateral meeting with PM Modi.
This is said to be the 6th time when a French leader will be the chief guest at Republic Day celebrations in India.
