The Congress Party is celebrating its 137th foundation day today. At the party event, when Sonia Gandhi tried to unfurl the Congress flag, the flag fell from the pole. She was tugging at the rope to unfurl the flag when a Congress worker tried to help her and pulled it with force and it led to the flag falling down.
Later, a Congress worker climbed up the post using a ladder to string the flag properly. Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Mallikarjun Kharge were some of the leaders who were present at the celebration.
The Congress Party is called the grand old party of Indian politics and it was formed on December 28th, 1885.
Rahul Gandhi tweeted that he was proud to be in a party that laid the foundation of democracy in India.
