Aaryan Kapoor, an electronics and instrumental engineering student from BITS-Pilani is one among the 9 candidates who scored 100 percent in the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2020. He hails from a small town in Hoshiyarpur district of Punjab. The 21 year old said he expected 99 percent and the top rank came as a pleasant surprise. He said that he started preparing for CAT by doing some mock papers since January 2020 but did serious preparations only for 6 months. According to Kapoor, CAT has a wide range of topics and it tests one’s aptitude and time management plays a key role as it is important to know which question to attempt and which question to leave out.

He said that the idea was to solve as many questions as possible as fast as possible and one should only attempt the questions they are confident in. Kapoor was weak in the verbal ability section and he paid special attention to it. He even enrolled in an online class and participated in many mock series tests. He also enrolled in a famous coaching institute for an overall CAT exam preparation. He spent 1 to 2 hours on weekdays and 6-8 hours on weekends for preparation.
