British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss in race to become next British PM

British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has entered the race to replace the existing British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Liz is one among the 11 candidates in the fray.
She held ministerial jobs in a number of government departments including trade, justice and the treasury. She is seeking to replace Boris Johnson as his government is embroiled in a series of scandals.


Liz is promising to take immediate action to cut taxes and help people to deal with the cost of living. Former Finance Minister Rishi Sunak is also in the race. Other candidates are attorney general Suelia Braverman, former health secretary Jeremy Hunt, finance minister Sajid Javid and transport secretary Grant Shapps.
