Britannia Industries Limited received more than a million application from unemployed homemakers in an initiative launched by the company to make women entrepreneurs. They realised that women were looking for fulfillment outside their domestic fields by starting their own small enterprise. Therefore in it’s centenary year in 2018, Britannia launched the Britannia Marie Gold My startup initiative as a promotional campaign and created the sum of rupees one crore for this purpose.

The Vice President Marketing Britannia  Ali Harris Shere said that has been a significant evolution about how a woman looks at things. Now women have their dreams of becoming financially independent. Out of the million responses, they will shortlist 50 women out of which 10 will be selected for getting Rupees 10 lacs each to launch their own business.
