The brave couple Shanmugavel and Senthamarai who valiantly fought against armed robbers in Tirunelveli district in their farm house have been felicitated with an award for their bravery.
They were recommended for the bravery award by the district administration and the district collector was ordered to make arrangements to send the couple to Chennai to participate in the Independence Day celebrations. Following this, the couple flew to Chennai by air and the Ambasamudram Tahsildar, Venkatesh who made all the arrangements, accompanied the couple to Chennai.
