When Bar Council of India Vice Chairman S.Prabakaran took to the podium to propose a Vote of Thanks at a glittering event to lay the foundation for a nine- storey administrative block and to inaugurate combined commercial court buildings and judicial quarters, he could not stop short of an effusive reference to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin and Chief Justice of India N.V.Ramanna.

Labelling them as “twin towers of constitutional power” the Senior Advocate & bar leader was justifiably pleased by not just the 4.24 acres of land allotted to the judiciary, in addition to the 3.52 acres given earlier, a long pending demand for a hike in the Tamil Nadu Advocates Welfare Fund from 7 to 10 lakh rupees to the families of deceased advocates, was also fulfilled. “That’s why I call him a ‘People’s Chief Minister’, Prabakaran gushed.
