Bar Council Chairman writes to CJI to grant holiday to courts on January 22

Chairman of the Bar Council of India Manan Kumar Mishra has written a letter to the Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud requesting him to grant holiday to all courts in the country on January 22 on the occasion of the inauguration of the Ram Mandir.

According to him, the event holds great historical, religious and cultural significance for millions of people across the country.
There is a 7 day agenda of rituals from the 14th of January leading to the Pran Pratishtha ceremony on the 22nd. More than 100 dignitaries from 55 countries across the world have been invited for the event.
Therefore, taking into consideration the religious, cultural, national and international importance of this event, the Chairman of the BCI has requested the CJI to declare a holiday for all courts in the country to enable the members of the legal fraternity to participate or observe the inauguration ceremony in Ayodhya.
