This visit is expected to strengthen the ties between the two countries, especially economic and strategic cooperation particularly in the Indo-Pacific region.
The India-Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA) came into force on December 29, 2022. Under this agreement, Australia was to offer zero-duty access to India for about 96.4 percent of exports from the day the agreement was enforced.
